Summary of our stays for our first year RVing

Based on where we stayed since October 1, 2019 thru September 30, 2020, we spent a total of $3,524.78 on campgrounds for the year, ranging from full hook-ups to boondocking at a Walmart parking lot.  That is an average of $293.73 per month and $9.63 per day.

We stayed 178 days moochdocking at family and friends, 75 days at Thousand Trails campgrounds, 34 at private campgrounds, 21 days at state campgrounds, 20 days at Passport America campgrounds, 14 days at a county campground, 10 days boondocking, 8 days at a KOA campground, plus 1 at a Good Sam’s campground and 1 at a Harvest Host, and 2 day stays at a CEO (army Corps Of Engineers) and 2 day stay at a National park.

We loved staying at state campgrounds and CEO campgrounds, but the Thousand Trails membership is budget friendly.  There were just a handful of campgrounds that we would never stay again.

If you would like a detailed list send us an email at, so I can email the PDF list to you.

Thank you and God bless.
